Anna Taylor

New manager for The Lindisfarne Inn

December 2013

We're delighted to announce the appointment of our new general manager, Anna Taylor.

Anna, who has worked at The Lindisfarne Inn for 18 months has been appointed general manager of the inn by our owners, Inn Collected Topco Limited.

It's an exciting opportunity for mum-of-three Anna, who splits her time between the UK and her family home in Tromso, Northern Norway where her children Connor, Zack and Jacob live. And it is also a return to Anna's Northumberland roots.

"I hail from Wooler originally," said Anna. "My parents owned the Black Bull pub in Wooler, so I have come the full circle, coming back to the hospitality sector and returning to North Northumberland to work.

" I am thrilled to have been given this opportunity. The Lindisfarne Inn is a wonderful place to work and it has carved out a real name for itself as a good place to eat, drink and stay, with locals and visitors alike. I really enjoy the interaction with our customers and we have a great team in place here.

Anna will be responsible for managing our 21-bedroom inn which employs up to 28 staff at peak times.

Inn group pulls national first in cellar awards

July 2013

The Lindisfarne Inn and our sister inns have become the first group in the country to gain a& coveted award by major brewer Carlsberg.

Our owners, Lindisfarne Inns Group, whose pubs include The Bamburgh Castle Inn at Seahouses and The Hog’s Head Inn at Alnwick, have become the first multiple operator in the country to achieve Carlsberg UK’s sought-after Gold Award at each of its pubs.

The beer quality awards, which reward licensees for outstanding cellar standards, have been operating for three years.

Jeff Acton, trade quality manager for Carlsberg, said: “Lindisfarne Inns have become the first in the county to gain a full complement of Carlsberg Gold Awards across all their units.

“This is an outstanding achievement for Lindisfarne Inns and indeed to their individual units which do all they can to ensure consumers get the perfect pint they deserve every time.

“The Carlsberg Gold Award should be seen as a quality stamp, whereby consumers can rest assured that they will enjoy a high quality offering.”

“From cellar to glass, the awards are all about quality. Lindisfarne Inns have proved they have the product quality, cellar hygiene, dispenser techniques, glassware and equipment cleanliness to deliver our products to the consumer at the highest quality.”

Sean Donkin, Lindisfarne Inns’ operations manager said: “We are delighted and very proud to achieve this landmark result for our inns and what is also a national first. It is a fitting accolade for the first-class cellar management employed across our inns into preparing and presenting the perfect pint for customers to enjoy.”

The Carlsberg Gold Award is the latest honour for the Lindisfarne Inns Group. The collection of inns has scooped a clutch of awards across its sites, including Cask Marque accreditation as well as securing the top five-star ranking in the national Food Standards Agency’s Food Hygiene Ratings at each site.
